A night out at the theatre this Valentine’s Day

With Valentine’s Day falling on a Saturday this year, we predict demand will be high for the biggest date night of the year. Don’t get left out in the rain – book early and get the best seats for an unforgettable night at the theatre.

Below are just a few suggestions for a romantic, unique night out in London.

The Devil Wears Prada

What’s it about? Based on the best-selling book and blockbuster film, the musical follows Andy – fresh out of college, this aspiring journalist scores a prestigious job for the terrifying fashion magazine editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly.


Why is it a good pick for Valentine’s Day? The must-have for Valentine’s. This musical will take you to the romantic cities of Paris and New York, along with trend-setting fashion and new music from Elton John.

Cabaret

What’s it about? In 1930s Berlin, Sally Bowles is a struggling cabaret performer getting by on her charm until she meets Cliff, an American who’s new in town.

Why is it a good pick for Valentine’s Day? Inside the Kit Kat Club, life is beautiful and everyone can be free. This luxury night out features pre-show music, dancing and entertainment before the main musical begins and transports you to the decadence of ’30s Berlin.

Hadestown

What’s it about? A retelling of the Greek myth of Orpheus, a bohemian musician who falls in love with Eurydice and then has to set out a journey to save her from the Underworld.

Why is it a good pick for Valentine’s Day? This is a timeless love story told in a modern, energetic style with a Tony Award-winning blues-inspired original score.

Moulin Rouge

What’s it about? Bohemian writer Christian arrives at the famous cabaret club to write a story about love featuring Satine. But as Christian falls in love with her, so does the Duke of Monroth who bankrolls the club. Who will win in this battle of affection?

Why is it a good pick for Valentine’s Day? The show celebrates the Bohemian ideals of truth, beauty, freedom and love, all to the soundtrack of an incredible mashed-up megamix of popular hits from the original Baz Luhrmann film and more modern songs. All of this alongside incredible costumes, fabulous dancing and a lusciously re-designed Piccadilly Theatre that will transport you to 19th century Paris the moment you step in the building.

Paranormal Activity

What’s it about? A young American couple move from Chicago to London to try and start life anew. But did something follow them here?

Why is it a good pick for Valentine’s Day? This brand new stage adaptation of the successful horror franchise is perfect for a spooky date night that will leave you clinging to each other. Expect jump scares and spine-tingling surprises.

The Phantom Of The Opera

What’s it about? In a 19th century French opera house, a new chorus girl is making a name for herself. But what is the secret behind her new found talent – and is it related to the rumoured phantom that haunts the opera house?

Why is it a good pick for Valentine’s Day? Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s tragic and beautiful story is filled with mystery, intrigue, special effects and an iconic score led by The Music of the Night.
