Britten’s War Requiem

Vasily Petrenko conducts Britten’s War Requiem.

This May, the RPO are performing Britten’s evocative and moving War Requiem at the iconic Royal Albert Hall. Written after the Second World War, composer Benjamin Britten used poetry by Wilfred Owen and words from the Latin Mass for the Dead to create a piece which explores the futility of war and memorialises its victims.
